I love a country that names a whiskey “Writer’s Tears,” where a post box urges “Be Brave,” and a shop sign reminds “There are no mistakes or failures, only lessons.”

Ireland, you stole my heart.

Dublin, Book of Kells, Bru Na Boinne, Galway, Inis Mor, Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty Castle, Kinsale. Our crash course in Ireland continues. And everywhere, music, fish and chips, pints of Guinness, woolen sweaters. We’re in love.

A name like “O’Dwyer” and it’s taken me until 2024 to get to Ireland. Finally, a country that doesn’t balk at writing “O apostrophe”!
